Don't Despair Car Repair provides assistance for individuals in need of car repairs in Greater Franklin County, Livermore, and Livermore Falls. Funding for this program focuses on those who need to get back and forth to work.

Applicant must be a resident of Franklin County, Livermore, or Livermore Falls, Maine.

Assistance may be provided up to $1,000 per applicant. If repair exceeds $1,000. Payment of the applicant portion must be paid to the garage prior to the United Way portion being paid.

Only one applicant per household. Applicants may only be funded one time.

Funding is limited to people currently working and individuals aged 60 and older with out-of-town medical appointments.

The work must be done at one of our participating garages.

Funding is for repairs that are inspectable items only.

Payment for the cost of the repair is sent directly to the selected garage upon confirmation that work is complete and applicant portion has been paid.

United Way of Western Maine is providing funding only and is not responsible for any future maintenance issues, damages, or unfinished work.
